Fashion Museum announces Gareth Pugh for Dress of the Year 2014

imageTonight at Bath in Fashion Rosemary Harden, Manager of the Fashion Museum announced that Katie Grand has chosen a dress from Gareth Pugh's A/W 2014 as the Dress of the Year. We were given a first look at the dress and it's quite an exciting piece to see.  You can't really tell by looking at the dress but it's made of plastic. It's three dresses with a large belt that holds it together. It looks stunning and ethereal but knowing that it's so disposable gives it such an eerie feeling.Dress of the Year first started in 1963, the year the museum came to Bath as the Museum of Costume. Previous winners have been Mary Quant in 1963 to Christopher Kane in 2013, the museum exhibits the top names of fashion in the last 50 years and each Dress of the Year gives us a clear point of view of what was happening that year.Fashion Museum, Assembly Rooms, Bennett Street, Bath BA1 2QHimageimageimageimageimage
