I have been featuring garments from Leutton Postle since I first saw Jenny Postle’s MA graduate collection a few years ago. I just loved all the textures – the crazyness and the colours. Knitwear really has had a resurgence over the past few yeasr – it’s not only taken more seriously it’s become more fashionable.Continue reading

It’s the perfect time to put men on fashion covers that traditionally feature women. This month both Elle UK and Phoenix feature their first man on a cover – and why not? Both cover models are called David, they are each supermodels, fashion icons and have beautiful bodies. This week in London is the firstContinue reading

I love Mawi jewellery, it’s strong, bold and has an edge to it and is still beautful. I’ve used it in quite a few shoots including in this image for Pheonix magazine. Mawi,11 Calvert Avenue, Shoreditch London E2 7JP

I’m a big ice cream fan so I was delighted to hear that fashion designer Corrie Nielsen has created an extra dark chocolate with a hint of orange blossom from Paris ice cream with Mr. Pantani – otherwise known as Mr Scoop.  If you’re lucky enough to attend Corrie’s London Fashion Week catwalk show  andContinue reading

I love reading magazines but it’s always fun to spot one on the shelf that you’ve worked on. I like going to Selfridges for magazines – they seem to have a good selection and they carry Phoenix! We’re already busy calling in and preparing shoots for our next issue!

I had the pleasure of meeting the charming duo behind Fyodor Golan, Fyodor Podgorny and Golan Frydman, at their press day. I used one of their dresses in our last issue of Phoenix and saw their winning collection this season at Fashion Fringe at Covent Garden! I thought their collection was so beautiful – IContinue reading

This is my new fashion cupboard at Phoenix Magazine! I’m quite excited as the whole office is being renovated at the moment and I had been hoping that this office would become our new fashion cupboard, and now it is!

I went to visit designer Corrie Nielsen at her studio in the vaults in Somerset House. Corrie’s SS12 collection was inspired by Oscar Wilde’s gothic novel, The Picture of Dorian Gray. Her love of mens tailoring is fused with a Japanese aesthetic, which works beautifully. Every piece in Corrie’s collection tells a story and it’sContinue reading

I was quite excited to see our 5th issue of Phoenix on the news stands today at my local magazine shop in Spitalfields. Phoenix magazine comes out three times a year during fashion week (September and February, and graduate fashion week in June). We’re already working on our next issue! Can’t wait.

This evening was the Phoenix Magazine launch party celebrating our 5th issue, which is out on news stands today. There are also free copies which will be given out during London Fashion Week. The party was at Jewel in Covent Gardens – I quite like the bar as I did my first shoot with KateContinue reading

Christopher is currently Senior Tailor at Alexander McQueen. He has worked for Biba,Continue reading

Today I styled a shoot with Kristin Knox, The Clothes Whisper. She brought her lovely tea cup Pomeranian Butters to the shoot. Butters is named after Butters on South Park. She likes carrots and and sat patiently in her Prada bag during the shoot.  During London Fashion Week and press days Butters is given aContinue reading

Today I was working on the next issue of Phoenix magazine, which comes out during London Fashion Week. It’s a busy week as we have five shoots this week, but so far everything has gone really well and we had great weather for out shoot in Oxfordshire.

I went to visit Ada at her studio and had a look at her new collection. I can’t show it to you, so I took a picture of her knitting machine instead! I’ve known Ada Zanditon for a few years. We met at Vauxhall Fashion Scout, and I was the stylist for the One’s toContinue reading

Every week I’m visiting designers or PRs to pick up items for my shoots. Today I went to visit Becc at Bloody Gray PR. Every PR is unique. Becc represents quite a few new designers – which is perfect for Phoenix magazine! Becc is super friendly and very professional – we even had a sneakyContinue reading

I love scouting for locations. It’s important to find the right set up for your shoot: it can make all the difference! You have to remember that one day you can have a beautiful sky but that can all change on your shoot day. I love these red apples but will they be there inContinue reading

Today I went to visit fashion designer Georgia Hardinge in her new studio. I was quite exciting to see the prints for her new collection. It was Friday afternoon and they were having cake and champagne to celebrate a little leaving party for one of Georgia’s staff. These images are from her AW11 collection. Can’tContinue reading

This jacket is part of the Kimono Collection by Beautiful Soul and it’s available at the V&A gift shop.  Beautiful Soul is designed by Nicola Wood, and she also does a ready to wear collection and a capsule menswear range. I recently used three of her dresses for Phoenix Magazine.

We just launched Issue 4 for Graduate Fashion Week. The cover was shot by Elizabeth Hoff, and was styled by me (I’m the Fashion Editor). Yasmin was great to work with, and she loves wearing new designers so she was perfect for Phoenix magazine because our main focus is new designers. The magazine is outContinue reading

There is so much exciting menswear in London that I’m quite inspired to do menswear shoots! I recently styled a menswear shoot that focused on colour, as not all menswear is black, white and gray! I’m quite looking forward to seeing shows on the menswear day at London Fashion Week.
