I was invited to a preview screening of Full Figured Fashion Week – part of a series Fashion Week Internationale by Vice Magazine. I knew it was going to be interesting because it was by Vice. The series focuses on the other fashion weeks around the world. London, New York, Paris and Milan are knownContinue reading

I went to visit Corrie Nielson at her studio at Somerset House and had a sneaky peak at her new SS12 collection. Of course I can’t show you any of the new pieces, you’ll just have to wait until London Fashion Week. Corrie won Fashion Fringe in 2010. I love that Corrie’s pieces have aContinue reading

It’s hard to resist a beautiful print dress. A good print can be quite clever and really flatter ones shape.

Georgia Hardinge is the kind of girl you meet and you feel like you’ve know here for years. She’s beautiful, fun and very talented. I has the opportunity to visit her in her studio and chat about what’s next for her after such an amazing year! Will you be showing in February during LondonContinue reading

I’ve worked with Pamela Chapman quite a few times on shoots and backstage. She does everything from backstage management to tailoring. There are so many different jobs in the fashion world and Pamela told me a bit about her work. How did you get into fashion? PC- My mother worked for a fashion house inContinue reading

I am not the type of person who gets starstruck by celebrities – it’s designers that make me giddy. I’m often in awe of their work and their creative talent. I’ve always loved Avsh Alom Gur‘s work and I had the opportunity to visit him in his studio! His collections are bold, with beautiful fabricsContinue reading

This is the second season that I’ve styled Prophetik and I loved the hair and make up for the SS11 look. Tim Furssedonn, International Creative Director for Toni & Guy created the hair look and Lan Nguyen created the makeup look. The theme was midnight garden and we wanted the models to have a veryContinue reading

Oh, what a night! Talk about ending London Fashion Week with a bang! AOFM held a fabulous party at the Connaught Hotel just next door to Vauxhall Fashion Scout on the last night of London Fashion Week. Sponsored by Fashion TV, this party didn’t disappoint! The fab F Vodka cocktails and champagne flowed all eveningContinue reading

I have admired Bora Aksu‘s work for many years – it’s very visceral feeling, sometimes you just like something because you like it and it doesn’t need defining.

During London Fashion week I always try to pop by a few shows or presentations in between the shows I am working on. It’s so much fun to rummage through another makeup artists makeup bag to see what products they love to use. I went to see the Saloni Lodha‘s presentation headed by makeup artistContinue reading

Stefán Orschel-Read’s collection ‘The Spy Who Becomes Me’ had 30 models, and each model had one look each. Backstage was quite calm and we seemed to have loads of time to hang around and chat. Sometimes backstage the time just flys by but all the models were on time – a few were even earlyContinue reading

Every fashion week I run into a group of girls who are just super cool. This season it was Cate Sevilla, the Editor-in-Chief of BitchBuzz, Phoebe Frangoul, freelance writer and Laetitia Wajnapel of MademoiselleRobot.

At The Art of Being by Elizabeth Emanuel show we had so much room backstage – one room for a hair, one for makeup and another one for all the clothes and accessories – so it was very calm backstage. Make up artist Lan Nguyen backstage with her team. Tim Furssedonn, International Artistic Director forContinue reading

It’s the beginning of London Fashion week and I started it with a bang by heading up the makeup team for the PPQ at Somerset House. With my amazing team of makeup assistants from AOFM, and product sponsors Benefit Cosmetics and Tweezerman. I was able to create a very London look that was clean andContinue reading

I styled Prophetik’s show at Vauxhall Fashion Scout this London Fashion Week. Every show you work on is different but this one is truly unique. Prophetik is all about sustainability, but not just in terms of fashion – it’s a way of life and how they treat their team. Jeff Garner and his team arrivedContinue reading

More hair and make up trials. Today we’re working with ethical designer Jeff Garner of Prophetik – we’re thinking about texture and Swarovski crystals!!

It’s important to plan every detail for a fashion show, which includes the hair and make up looks. You have moodboards, but it’s important to work with an actual model to see the whole look. We’re working on Elizabeth Emanuel’s show – lashes are key!

Went to East London today to visit Lako Bukia, Neurotica and Yorkshire Pearl. London has so many fabulous designers it’s hard to make the time to see everyone’s collection but London a la Mode represents over ten designers so if you get a chance it’s worth the visit!
