Last week I styled a shoot featuring Vauxhall’s newest car, an electric car called the Ampera.
For the shoot William Tempest designed the ‘Erin Electric,’ a dress which features hundreds of LED lights and 1,000 Swarovski crystals. The dress was designed just for Erin O’Connor. Erin also wore a pair of very sparkly Gina shoes with a Rainbow True ring from Swarovski Crystalized. She looked amazing - we did the shoot late at night and Erin really was stopping traffic!

The Ampera at the shoot is actually the only one that exists right now - it goes into production in 2012. It’s really amazing how quiet electric cars are!

We got ready at William’s studio. Erin was amazing, super cool and fun to work with. After a few touch ups from William himself we headed off to the Chelsea Bridge!

Independent charity Historic Royal Palaces is undertaking a £12 million major project to transform Kensington Palace by 2012. The Palace could have closed for this time, or they could have chosen to do something extraordinary. They chose to do something extraordinary.
Last year I went to The Palace with William Tempest, to a meeting with curators Joanna Marschner and Alexandra Kim and the team from theatre company Wild Works. This was the first of many meetings to come and Joanna spoke about an extraordinary idea, it was a meeting of possibilities – which is in many ways what the Palace is all about.
I couldn’t envision how it was all going to come together. I saw the start of several of the princesses’ rooms and unusual objects being created in the work rooms of Kensington Palace. Vivienne Westwood, William Tempest, Stephen Jones, Aminaka Wilmont, Boudicca and illustrator and set designer Echo Morgan all choose a room and a story, and with Wild Works they created “The Enchanted Palace”.

The Enchanted Palace opened on March 26th and I had the opportunity to visit the Palace at night. It truly was enchanting - it felt alive and atmospheric. You often feel the need to whisper like you’re in a museum but the Palace is not a museum - it’s a place where people actually live. It was home to William and Mary, George II, the young Queen Victoria, and Diana, Princess of Wales. Prince and Princess Michael of Kent, Duke and Duchess of Kent and Duke and Duchess of Gloucester presently live in the west wing of the Palace.
Some will say this is not an exhibition for traditionalists, but I think it is. The Palace and it’s stories are celebrated and told again in new ways so that they are not forgotten, and the stories told through this exhibition are definitely stories to be remembered.
William Tempest - Queen Victoria’s bedroom

Vivienne Westwood - Charlotte The Rebellious Princess

Boudicca -The Cupola Room

Wild Works Theatre company - Detectors keeping watch over The Palace. They are what makes the Palace come to life they are scurrying about with a ghost like quality playing musical instruments including a saw, watching over a missing princess and discussing time.

Council Chamber has two dresses, which belonged to Diana, Princess of Wales and Princess Margaret. The dresses are enclosed in glass cases surrounded by leafless trees.

Bleu Mae of Fleur de Lis was spotted wearing the William Tempest Fire Dress with a Rock ‘n’ Roll Angel Jackson fringe tote and Sergio Rossi Clyde Hi boots at London Fashion Week. Grazia snapped her as part of their "It’s the fashion front line -10 hot stories". If you want to stand in a crowd wear prints and colour!

An interview with Bleu Mae of Fleur de Lis (she’s the one in the middle).
How would you describe your fashion style?
Fashion is how you feel…. I’m pretty laid back but doll like. So probably grunge dolly is my style. AKA pretty dresses with chip nails and leather jackets. But I kinda just go with it - my hair is my statement thanks to the wonderful Tim at Tony&Guy - who sorted my dyi home job…
Who are your favourite designers?
There are soooo many but I love William Tempest sooo much I think if i could swan about in a William Tempest dress everyday I so would plus he’s the nicest guy. I love vintage prom dresses too!
Favourite shop?
High street it’s Topshop, Beyond Retro for my vintage dresses and my dream shop is The Shop at Bluebird and the Selfridges handbag department.
How would you describe your music?
I find it really hard to describe and I don’t want to put us in a genre people disagree with but I think its folk pop but with an American western feel to the sound. So our lyrics are heart felt pop tunes, ready for your dancing shoes but our sound is rooted deep from folk and American country.
How old were you when you wrote your first song?
About 13, about a boy in a band called the Kabeedies from Norwich who I became obsessed with and I wrote a song about him ignoring me and my undeniable love for him haha.
Who is Fleur de Lis? Tell us about your band.
Fleur De Lis is a 4 piece British folk/pop band. Its me Bleu Mae on Lyrics and Vocals - John Landau on Guitar - Jeremey on Percussion and Paul on Double bass. For future shows we maybe bringing in a special session musician with a cool instrument.
What festivals are you doing?
I’m doing lots of festivals this year I’m sooooo excited to get into the wellie action again.. .as a festival gooer the options of playing at Glastonbury, Underage, Latitude, Pukklepop, Lowlands and Reading is really exciting. Its just confirming stages and dates at the moment that are compatble with the release my single release.

Kate Moss wearing a William Tempest dress designed exclusively for Sport Relief. The dress is made partly from some blue recycled mosquito nets. The net comes in white, pink or blue - the nets look quite pretty, you can imagine them over a bed as if you were a princess, or outside at night for a party. It’s hard to believe that for £5 you could save a life with these nets - someone dies from malaria every 30 seconds.

This was an amazing shoot to style. I felt very lucky to be part of such talented team. Everyone donated their time, and everyone was really busy: the shoot took place a few weeks before fashion week! It’s important, though: fashion can be so powerful and really get a message out there. Sport Relief is one of the UK’s biggest fundraising events and since it’s launch in 2002 they’ve raised over £80 million.

The shoot was an easy but exciting day. Everything ran so smoothly. Kate’s team was really lovely (and fun) to work with: James Brown did her hair and Karina Constantine did the make up. The photographer was Tyrone Lebon. We had lot of lovely jewellery and Kate wore an elegant Stephen Webster Vortex Cuff in Yellow Gold with White Diamonds.
What can I say about Kate Moss? She’s so fun and personable, she was so easy to work with and she’s easily the best model I’ve ever seen in action. We hear the word supermodel every day and it starts to lose it’s meaning, but when you get to actually work with a model like Kate Moss you’re reminded of what the word supermodel really means.

William Tempest and Kate Moss!
