I am not a girl who wears bling but I do have a weakness for silver handbags and I’m not sure what that says about me. I was reading The Purse Blog and saw this Marc Jacobs Quilted Bruna Satchel!

I love that it’s quilted! It’s available at Bloomingdales for $1,350.00!

Actually I really would and I’m not really a bag girl. I do covet many things but I get to live vicariously through my shoots and everyday experiences as a fashion stylist. So oddly enough I don’t feel a great need to own a great many things, but I do seem to need a new handbag this winter.
I have 4 bags: a silver Belen Enchandia bag – which is well-loved, a Prada backpack & evening bag and a wonderful green handbag which was great for summer from Elisa Atheniense. I’m not one of those girls who changes handbags on a regular basis: I’m in awe of the girl who does. I hate changing bags frequently as I always forget to put something I need into the new bag. I think Oh, I don’t need the tape measure today or the double sided tape or my tide pen and then of course I do need it.
A bag to covet:

I saw this lovely bag at Selfridges: Balenciaga’s Cherche Midi Chain Link in green with beige and black. I always think I should buy a lovely black bag but it’s always a coloured handbag that catches my eye. Though the is bag not quite me I’m partial to the deep green colour. I generally like to own things by designers that I’ve met or know quite well. Clothing on some levels is very intimate to me - it has to have some meaning – a certain je ne sais pas. Anyway I’m loving purple at the moment.
I like this Belen Enchandia bag and the Notting Hill Design Python Bag. I wear quite a bit of black and purple would be a great accent colour.

There is a new trend in Eco fashion and the focus has shifted to be fashionable first – understanding that it’s fashion that sells, for the most part people will buy something because they like it, they can afford it and if it’s eco friendly that’s just a bonus.
Leju’s latest Spring Summer 09 collection shows us the continual need for eco fashion that is fashion/ trend lead. Leju are now combining "Vegetable Ivory" with sterling silver and semi precious stones. They are using their South American manufacturing techniques and fusing them with a more European style. The jewellery is very tactile and smooth – it’s hard to believe it’s a nut!
LeJu is stocked in over 175 boutiques and galleries throughout the UK and Europe and is available from several on-line boutiques.
FYI: What is vegetable Ivory? The seed is harvested from a palm tree species called Hyphaene Phytelephas, found in the Amazonian rain forest. Vegetable ivory resembles elephant ivory in both colour and hardness and is the only 100% sustainable alternative. Tagua is another name for the seed or nut, and the rich colours are created by staining and dying it with natural plant extracts and oils.

Well, I have to say I feel very hip seeing myself in one of my favourite magazines! This is from the autumn issue of Zink Canada.

When Zink magazine said they’d like to interview me I was quite delighted and they asked for a picture of me so I sent them a typical headshot. Then they asked for something more editorial…hmm…I thought it would be fun to work with a Canadian team who live in London so Rachel Jones did my hair & make up and Christopher Dadey did the photography. It was quite fun doing the shoot for Zink although it was very very weird being on the other side of the camera. We shot around Carnaby Street -one of my favourite areas of London and even had a nice lunch in one of the cafes. I was a bit uncomfortable at first but as the day progresses I felt more at ease. Just dressing up was so much fun. I’ve always wanted to wear one of Manish Arora’s dresses but never felt that I had the right occasion; I felt like a super hero when I wore the sunglasses and the pink & silver dress!

I love shops that have that old world feel to them, you just know that there is something extraordinary inside and I love antique jewellery. Bentley & Skinner specialise in fine antique jewels from Faberge and silver to an array of diamonds. They have been buying and selling jewellery for over 180 years.

Much of their jewellery is from private auctions or purchased privately. Jewellery and accessories are key to creating a personal style, and by adding an antique piece of jewellery it helps to create a more personal unique look.
