Secondhand Shopping in Pimlico For a stylist I actually don’t shop very much, or at least I don’t think I shop as much as I’d like to. When I’m visiting another country I alway try and fit some shopping in, but in London it happens a bit more haphazardly. Recently my sister in-law was visiting and weContinue reading

I’ve always quite liked the Kings Road as it was one of my favourite fashion weeks – it’s hard to believe that quite a few years ago London Fashion Week was held on the Kings Road.

It’s the perfect place to take a break, shop and have tea (plus they have wifi)! I love going there and having tea at the counter and you can often chat with founder Tena Strok. The shop offers a selection high-end ready-to-wear labels such as JW Anderson, Meadham Kirchhoff  and Hussein Chalayan, with  lifestyle products, withContinue reading

I love seeing how shops merchandise their window and how they dress and what kind of mannequins they feature. This week my favourite windows were Zara on Oxford street. Punk and 80’s inspirations – loved the pin curl wig – very Givenchy A/W 13 Loved the oversized cards at Beyond Retro. 90’s grunge and oversizedContinue reading

We needed some sunny weather so we’ll start spending! I’ve spent the past couple of weeks meeting retailers and listening to them all recount the same story – it’s been an abysmal month and they are not moving their spring stock. Some retailers said that they’ve been able put their orders on hold, others areContinue reading

Love this colourful necklace from Hong Kong designer, Connie Lo. Her label is called Nutcase and all the pieces are fun and bright. Connie studied in the UK but is now based in Hong Kong where these pieces are handmade. You can buy her jewellery on Etsy and most pieces are under £60!

I love vintage shopping but this is the first vintage department store that I’ve been to! Blitz is 5-room Victorian warehouse space that covers 9,000 sq feet. It boasts more stock than any other vintage store in London it seems to have everything from vintage poloroid cameras to an array of trendy over-dyed shorts. IContinue reading

Are you shopping before you even reach your destination? Well at Terminal 3 in Heathrow there are so many shops: Bally, Gucci, Harrods, Hermes, Miu Mui, Bulgari, Paul Smith, Chanel, Pink, Mulberry, Jo Malone, MAC and Zara – and there are still loads more. I’m a big fan of airport shopping. I have my ownContinue reading

I love these fashion signs which were posted on the doors to mall in Toronto.

I’ve been looking forward to the opening of Boxpark for some time now. I was quite curious to see what it was really going to be like, and the wait’s over! It opens tomorrow and will have over 60 brands. It’s located opposite Shoreditch House and Shoreditch High Street station and the space has beenContinue reading

This is the goodie bag from the Glamour and Way In event at Harrods. It was quite an exciting event to style! All the guests could have free makeovers and eyelash extentions – the queue for eyelashes was endless!

If you’re ever wondering who made the infamous Bjork swan dress it was Marjan Pejoski! You might be quite excited to know that he’s even made one for Blythe! Marjan Pejoski graduated from St Martins and has had his own label since 2000. In 2008 Marjan Pejoski and Sasko Besovski aka Sasha B opened KokonContinue reading

It’s hard to imagine in this day and age that retailers would rather destroy merchandise than discount it or give it to charities. I was at the Drapers Fashion Summit when Lyle & Scott Managing Director Derrick Campbell said that they were considering destroying their merchandise (over a £1million of sweaters) rather than selling it.Continue reading

Author Agnes Smedley once wrote "I see no reason why a woman should not grow and develop in all those outlets which are suited to her nature, it matters not at all what they may be". Though perhaps not her intention, her words echo the sentiments of satisfied Designer outlet mall shoppers. Though outlet mallsContinue reading
