Posted by Rebekah Roy on November 4th, 2008

It feels like it’s been raining for days – and it has. So the best thing to cheer me up is a pink pair of wellies but with wedges!! Yippy!!

High Heel Work Out

Posted by Rebekah Roy on October 30th, 2008

I think I can walk in high heels. I just blame the shoes if my feet hurt but is it the way I’m walking in my 5 inch heels that’s actually causing the pain? The new edition of the Legwork out High Heel Fitness DVD is out! It was designed by New York multi-disciplinary Kristin Victoria Barron. There is even a version of the DVD for your iPod. This video is designed to give you the strength & posture to walk well in high heels.

Last weekend I read an article in The Sunday Times about how high heels effect your spine and your entire body – it was a bit disturbing. So if we’re going to still wear high heels we may as well wear them well. I think any exercise is good for you. The Legwork offer classes which I’d definitely try but I think they are only in the states…I haven’t seen the DVD but I maybe it’s worth a try!

Red or Dead Eye Ball

Posted by Rebekah Roy on October 8th, 2008

I went to a wonderful event for Red or Dead at Home House in central London. Red or Dead designs footwear, watches, handbags, sunglasses but tonight was all about spectacles. The presentation was truly unique as you could view the spectacles at eye level – (if you’re 5′ 2") and you can easily see all the detail. Most of the shape were rectangular which actually suits a wide variety of face shapes. Some of the prints were amazing from edgy black & white frames to lipstick & leopard prints.

It’s amazing how important eyewear has become. It can completely change how you look. It gives you a specific style the moment you put on a pair of glasses. I think if you wear glasses it would be great to have three pairs. You might think three pairs are extravagant but this collection is quite reasonably priced and available at Specsavers.

This fabric and print was created especially for Red or Dead eyewear and will be used as part of the packaging.

Chocolate martinis, mojitos and the most delectable h’orderves, everything from mini quiches to hamburgers, fish & chip and even shepherds pie. I was stuffed but of course I couldn’t resist the chocolate martinis!

Clare Copland, on the left designed the dresses for the Red or Dead event! Creative director Katie Greenyer is in the middle and wearing one of the dress with a great leather belt. How fab is she! She’s been the creative director for 16 years and has over 600 pairs of shoes, and of course some great handbags!

We are wearing the invites for the event. The marketing is all very cheeky but very clever – very Red or Dead.

The team from On|Off are great fans of Katey’s; you’d understand she’s the kind of girl that once you’ve met her you just become a fan. Lee Lapthorne is on the far left, then one of the prs from Chase, Clare Copland, Katey Greenyer and uber cool Diana Findlay.

Bridget Marsh on the left, is from Cosmopolitan.co.uk and beauty writer Katie Corcoran is from Handbag.com. Love this site, it’s been around for 10 year!

Would you wear glasses as a fashion accessory?

Inbar Spector London Fashion Week S/S 09

Posted by Rebekah Roy on September 20th, 2008

This show was such a pleasure to work on. I think I’ve been walking around with a smile on my face for the past few weeks as I just love Inbar’s collection. Inbar is really a truly creative person and as her stylist I want to do the best job possible. We had wonderful models and the same creative team as last season: Lan Nguyen did the make up and Jan Przemyk  headed the team from Toni and Guy. There is something very special about working with the same team. Inbar’s show was the closing show at Vauxhall Fashion Scout!

Jan had to spend quite a bit of time preparing the hair before the show – but it looked great in the end! For more information about the look and feel of the hair visit Toni&Guy.

The shoes are from the amazing Walter Steiger and they work perfectly with this collection! Walter Steiger designs his shoes in Italy with meticulous detail; I love all the heels and he does some wicked boots!

The finale dress was amazing – I saw this last dress being made – it was so intricate and so detailed. I’ll show you some full length images once I’ve received them.

Avsh Alom Gur was a hot ticket for this London Fashion Week – which also means the expectation of the collection are high! Everything about this collection was beautiful – all the details from the earrings, head scarves to the matching shoes. It was not only beautiful but an inteliligent collection. The collection had a very 50’s feel reminiscent of I love Lucy! The clothes are fun beautiful, bright and cut for the female form – meaning they are easy to wear. I’d love to be the type of girl who wears this collection you know she’s confident, sassy and holds her own!
