Life is full of cliches. The problem with cliches is that they are usually true. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Beauty comes from within. All true, but just sometimes something on the outside can change how we feel on the inside. This time of year, there’s so much expectation for one to feel wonderful, to be top of your game and to be your most wonderful self. Well, what if you don’t feel your best? Does a hot bath really work? Well, it does for the moment and sometime a moment is all you need. We expect things to last when life is really just a series of moments (another wonderful cliche). So what makes you feel good on the outside? Mascara, shoes, perfume, a glamour dress? Just remember: if you feel good about yourself for just a moment, it just might be worth it.

Looking for that perfect gift? How to avoid frostbite and not mess up your hair? Uggs has some great accessories. I’ve never been a massive Uggs fan but I’ve been warming up to them. I hate being cold and I don’t like to look ugly and anyone would look super cute in these earmuffs!!

£58 at Shudoo and you can still make a Christmas delivery if you order before noon on Dec 22nd!
I recently interviewed Leon from Shudoo, and here’s what he had to say about the company, which has is one of those rare internet success stories of a solid company that’s been around for years!
Can you tell me a bit more about the company?
Shudoo launched as Ugs & Kisses in 2004 by former Saracens rugby player Robbie Russell and his wife Claire. The company sold UGG boots, but has branched out into other boot brands (Blowfish, Bumper, Snowjoggers) and also shoes (Terry de Havilland, Roberto Botella and Steve Madden).
A new website will launch after the January sales.
What makes the company special?
By Spring 2009 we will have much more brands for both men and women. We’ve launched a blog SHUNEWS (http://shunews.shudoo.co.uk) which offers celebrity style news.
We offer special discounts and competitions to our newsletter subscribers.
How many people work there?
There are seven people at Shudoo. Customer service, management, marketing, content and operations.
Why shop there?
Free delivery (something so simple which is actually a rarity in online fashion), wide range, telephone customer service.
Has it been busier this season?
Yes. The UGG Classic Cardy has been the surprise success of the year.

Simple Shoes are basically sustainable shoes that you can live with.
These trainers have silk gingham uppers and I really like the sheen on them! They also have organic cotton linings, recycled PET laces (laces that used to be soda bottles!) and outsoles that used to be a car tire. The product detail is great on this site and they have six different views of the shoes!

These shoes, called Retire, are made with recycled bike tires and with certified organic cotton. I wore a pair all day and found them pretty comfy. I do feel a bit limited with what to wear with flat shoes especially since I mainly wear dresses. For work they are great as I spend most of the day standing and they feel like slippers!

Sir Tom Baker specialises in classically cut formal suits and modern cutting edge suits. You might not be a rock star but if you’d like to feel like one you might consider one of his suits, either bespoke or off the peg. Sir Tom trained at Hardy Amies. He’s been creating bespoke suits for over 10 years from his Soho based workshop, and he’s recently launched his own ready-to-wear collection.
I love this purple jacket. I think every man should have at least a hint of purple in his wardrobe this season. The ready-to-wear is a delight: beautiful wools, lame and a host of other unexpected fabrics, used to great effect, with a hint of embellishment. His signature cut is the single breasted, 1 button peak lapel suit, based on a classic English silhouette, with clean lines and sharp edges. How sexy is that!

A bespoke suit is handmade, designed to your own specification, created without the use of a pre-existing pattern – otherwise it’s made-to-measure. You’ll hear the term semi-bespoke – which might include work done by machine. A true bespoke suit takes time – usually about 6 weeks as even the button holes are hand sewn. You’ll often have about 3 fittings, and then you have the perfect suit.

I love these shoes. They are so cool – I love when men wear edgy shoes. This is one of the things that I love about London – the way men dress. They have such great style options. What girl can resist a well-dressed man?
