I recently took part in a Blogger Vision – Q&A by F.Tape. F.Tape is a London-based directory that provides a Who’s Who of the best of fashion’s creative end. It has a 10,000-strong database of key industry professionals. Each month they spotlight stylists, photographers and other industry professionals and they’ve just launched a new feature called Blogger Vision.
Blogger Vision is all about bloggers’ opinions, including what Liberty London Girl, Disney Roller Girl, Style Salvage, Kingdom of Style, The Coveted and Frock Writer have to say on all things blog and fashion-related!

When your grandmother worked in secret as a seamstress, spending her evenings sewing elaborate creations for her family and your grandfather worked in clothing production supplying leading British highstreet retailers after the first world war you know fashion is in your blood! Alice Stone, the granddaughter of Lily and Lionel studied design at London College of Fashion. She’s been on an adventure and travels the world in search of authentic and individual creations for Lily and Lionel, an on-line boutique and tribute to her grandparents.

I love the beautiful cashmere and silk scarves for men and this Bow Bag is super cute! Alice sources the items from all over the world. She’s a true global traveller looking for the highest quality materials that are ethical and sustainable. Working with local producers has enabled Lily and Lionel to offer luxury items at a reasonable price.

Lily and Lionel is a brand to watch, it’s not a trend and it’s not built on trends.
Alice is the kind of girl that when you meet her you feel that you’ve known her a long time. Somehow that feeling of warmth and friendliness translates into the look and feel of the site. The imagery is fun, youthful and friendly. The site is very easy to use: with good images and a nice zoom in feature (I’m still shocked when sites don’t offer this feature). The site was created by Construct, who also built Luella.com and Mulberry.com.

Alice Stone at her press launch!

This is a 1949 ad for Platex Pink-Ice rubber pants!

I know, we can’t quite imagine ourselves wearing a pair of rubber pants so we’ll look slim in our latest fashions but who knows maybe we would have! (of course we would have!)
…and here’s the latest version…something more comfortable!

If you’d like to look a bit more svelt Pretty Polly Secret Slimmer might be perfect for the holiday season.(You can now eat that extra mince pie)!
I tried a pair of these tights in a 15 denier and you do feel held in, in all the right places without your circulation being cut off - tummy and thigh control. The tights have variable compressions which give the body smooth lines and it’s designed so you don’t look like you’re wearing a big pair of pants. They are 88% Nylon, 11% Elastane and 1% Cotton and they feel very nice! Whoo extra mince pies this season!!

British Style Genius is a new show airing this autumn. The event featured a 20-minute preview of the five-part series, with an introductory talk by BBC2 Controller, Roly Keating. I love fashion TV and I’ll watch any fashion program at least once. I just want to know what’s happening and be informed of fashion television as a trend.
I think it’s important to have programs that support and celebrate British fashion, especially when London Fashion Week was being squeezed. I heard comments this season that London Fashion Week was too commercial - to wearable…

Does this women look familiar? It’s the Editor of Drapers, Lauretta Roberts! (The mask was featured in the programme.)

Fashion journalist Phoebe Frangoul and my wonderful assistant Rosie!

Bloggers Unite! Denrele, Susie Bubble and me!

This jacket belongs to the King of vintage, the charming Mark Butterfield!

The party was in Camden Lock and we were treated to fruity vodka cocktails and more canapés than you could eat! It was a very festive event with lots of very cool fashion people.

It’s so hard to chose what to wear when I love so many of the pieces. I cannot separate the designs from the designer. I think that if you love the clothes you will love something about the designer - the person. There are a couple of designers that I know who really express themselves through their collection and Inbar is one of these people.
I know the lines between fashion and art is often blurred but I don’t see this as a problem - I think it’s a bonus. Working with Inbar is like working with family, some people you just feel at home and comfortable with. You have to be able to say what you think and feel and know that that’s ok. I love all these dresses and I might be bias but I don’t think that that clouds my judgement.
These are some of my favourite looks but really it’s so hard for me to chose, check out Vogue.com to see the whole S/S 09 collection.
This dress is amazing, it felt like the model was poured into it. It’s strong, feminine and so so sexy.

I love Inbar’s jackets - they were great in the A/W 08 collection and are just as strong for S/S 09. I’d wear this outfit everywhere!

I just love the construction of this dress, it’s just so beautiful!
