The Luxury Marketing Council Europe held the Luxuria Awards last week at a ceremony at The Orangery Gallery in Holland Park. The Wall Street Journal was the key sponsor and the awards were created to honour excellence in luxury design, manufacture, retail and communications.

Courtney Blackman accepted an award on behalf of our favourite hatter Louis Mariette. (Louis is away in the Middle East!) Netaporter, Condé Nast Traveller, and Moet & Chandon were also winners.

It was quite a lovely event as it was a perfect evening summer’s evening with an endless amount of delectable canapes, champagne and even rum punch!

This is what I love about Paris Hilton – she can wear anything, and lots of people will gift her anything but she still wears something just beause she likes it. You either love or hate Paris but I can’t help but admire someone for having their own style. Paris purchased three of Louis Mariette’s ‘Lola’ hair brooches at West Hollywood’s Le Bra last week and was already photographed in Cannes wearing them.
Hatter extraordinaire, Louis Mariette created the worlds most expensive hat, worth £1.5 million. The hat is made entirely of platinum and diamonds!

I like hats. When I’m wearing a hat I feel very self-conscious but at the same time quite special. Hats have always been an indicator of social status – perhaps this is why we feel special when we’re wearing a hat, or it might just be the whimsical nature of hats with so many delightful trimmings!

I really like wearing hats but I don’t seem to wear them often enough I feel a bit odd wearing them on the tube. I was invited to the Luxury Council Summer Rooftop Garden Party so it was the perfect opportunity to wear a hat! The party took place looking over the Thames river near Southwark Bridge.
Louis Mariette had a special room at the event for a selected number of guests to wear one of his special creations!
I used to love perfume but don’t wear it often any more. I was given some Miller Harris perfume – as they were one of the sponsors for the party and I really liked it. Scent is so personal. I love this picture of me and Courtney! We look very cool and coordinated, of course it’s the hats that make the look!
