Styling a group show is never an easy task but "The Ones to Watch" went very smoothly. All our designers were well organized and most of our models arrived early. The show before us was running late - which meant we had plenty of time, so we were off to a good start!
We had four very different designers. First there was Studio-805, men’s and women’s by Andrew Bannister - everything is red and white including the eyes - contact lenses! Then we have the lovely Kumiko Watari of the Migh-T, knitwear specialist Alice Palmer, who’s hats no one can resist and ethical men’s and women’s designer Lu Flux. Interestingly enough every collection had a few hats!
I’m not even sure how many hair and make up assistants there were but the room was packed! Tony and Guy did the hair and Rachel Wood for Benefit did the make up. The call time for our show was 4 hours before show time so everyone had to work efficiently and as a team. You’d think with four different designers with four completely different looks it would be a challenge but we all had one common goal - we wanted the show to go well- and it did! I’ll post some images of the catwalk show once I receive them.

Model casting is not an easy job but it can be great fun. It’s difficult to find the right model with the look that you want. We saw a few hundred models yesterday.
In the picture on the left is Lu Flux and Kumiko Watari for migh-T, they are part of Fashion’s Scout’s "Ones to Watch" show and on the right is William Tempest.
After the casting you choose the girls that you’d like to have for your show, you option them and then the waiting begins. The agencies need to organize the schedules of the models and make sure that a girl can do as many shows as possible, although sometimes a model can have an exclusive booking for one designer only!
I love to see what the models are wearing. All the girls wore very high heels and we saw lots of "wet" look leggings!
