Love this spider crab cuff by Stephen Webster. It’s so much more beautiful on and the picture doesn’t do it justice. It’s white gold with silver and diamonds with black onyx cabochons. The crab even has cute but menacing little eyes.

I love this mirror from Erickson Beamon. It costs about £10,000 – it’s hard to appreciate from this photo, how beautiful and detailed it is. It’s truly bejeweled and has about 80 pairs of earrings in it!

Erickson Beamon was launched in 1983 by Karen Erickson, Eric Erickson and Vicki Beamon. They were working with a designer for a catwalk show and realized that they needed accessories. They were stringing crystals and beads on to leather strips and their brand was born!

I don’t know of many rock ‘n‘ roll artists who are customizing their own jewellery and then starting their own jewellery company, but that’s exactly what Thomas Sabo did over 30 years ago.
Thomas Sabo travelled to Goa, where he bought local silver chains and statement pendants as a way to customize his rockstar look. His jewellery was so popular that he started to sell the Goan silver to eager customers in his home town of Lauf an der Pegnitz in Bavaria, and in 1984 he set up his own jewellery company there.
I bought some Thomas Sabo jewellery a few years ago with my per diem while while I was on tour with Billy Idol, and I still get comments on the the pieces every time I wear them!

Recently in NYC I’ve gained a few new makeup clients, one of them is the very talented jewelry designer Tracie Howarth, owner of Brooklyn Charm. I’ve worked with Tracie on various fashion events and recently did her makeup when she was being interviewed for ABC TV in the USA. What’s really special and unique about Tracie’s store Brooklyn Charm is that it’s a place where you can create your own jewelry. Along the walls and tables in the shop are spools of various chains, boxes of various charms, containers of stones and gems. You’re given a tray to collect the items you like and Tracie or one of her talented staff will then assemble the necklace or bracelet for you. If you want to learn how to make your own jewelry, there are classes held at the store on various evenings. I think the concept of this store is great because you really are guaranteed to get a one of a kind creation. Tracie also sells vintage rings, pre-made up pieces and various other pieces of jewlery.

I’ve always had a weakness for whimsical jewellery and I love these necklaces by Aartthie Mahakuperan.

Aartthie Mahakuperan lived in Saudi Arabia until the age of 6 and then moved to London. She loved clothes and playing dress up, and she’s a huge fan of funky house music, going dancing and Harry Potter!
She always wanted to do something creative so she finally quit her office job and starting making jewellery. Aartthie has a stall at the Backyard Market in Brick Lane – just look for the stall with a birdcage that has shoes sitting inside it. You can also check out her site at: Fairytales and Post it Notes.
