I like hats. When I’m wearing a hat I feel very self-conscious but at the same time quite special. Hats have always been an indicator of social status - perhaps this is why we feel special when we’re wearing a hat, or it might just be the whimsical nature of hats with so many delightful trimmings!

Sometimes I think London is a city made up of hundreds and thousands of design studios. There are so many jewellery, milliners and fashion designers - this is what’s so special about fashion in the UK - so much talent in one small place!

Hemyca is a London based design team. We were paired together for Living TV’s Living Loves Fashion. We were filming in Hemyca’s studio, drinking hot chocolate & talking about their A/W08 collection and their spring 09 collection. They really focus on tailoring, fabric and all the shapes & sizes that women come in, so they do quite a bit of bespoke work. Helen & Myra met at London College of Fashion and knew that they would make a great team. They worked for leading fashion brands including; Roland Mouret, Ben de Lisi, and well known high street retailers, before being inspired to create their own unique vision.

Hemyca can be bought on-line at Koodos.com, The Look Boutique and Oli.
