PingHe – This is our second season at Fashion Scout, last season, PingHe’s first collection picked up several new stockists including Harvey Nicholas so we’re quite excited about what will happen this season and we will be exhibiting during Paris Fashion Week.
PingHe is body-conscious and flatters the female shape – winter is about resistance and you can see this in the luxurious fabrics: neoprene, pvc, leather, furs and wools. The colour palette was red, black, white and metallic. We had these amazing gold trainers, thin leather belts and bags that you can just sling over one shoulder. The theme and nspiration for Ping was ‘the world is blurred in my eye’, everything is moving too fast we don’t remember to stop, to look around and see what and who surrounds us. We created a move towards a slowness of time and space featuring a live drummer and the slow pace that the models walked. Even our backstage is very calm and relaxed – we really have a great team on ever level from Jo Sugar, head makeup artist & Bill Watson who created the hair, right to all our back stage dressers!
This is some back stage footage of the team that I worked with on the Harvey Nichols shoot in Istanbul. It was really cool experience to shoot a model hanging upside down. It’s really hard on the models’ foot; the foot is quite heavy wrapped up and all the blood is rushing to the models head. Modelling is harder than it looks! Anyway I really loved working with this team. I hadn’t met them before so they’re taking a risk working with someone new. They were amazing; it’s just great when everyone really does their job and everything seems to fall perfectly into place.

This is one of the images that I styled for Harvey Nichols Istanbul. It was quite an amazing shoot because the models were hung up side down by their foot. It’s quite difficult for the model and painful so the team has to work quickly!
