Blue Lips at Hannah Marshall

Posted by Rebekah Roy on March 7th, 2010

Alex Box did blue lips for Hannah Marshall’s A/W2010 catwalk show. Generally I don’t like blue lips, every makeup artist loves doing them but usually badly…

The makeup for Hannah’s show was beautiful. Alex used Mac Pro Lip Mix in blue blended with Lip Mix in black. The contours of the face and the silvery highlighter completed the look and the blue lips look beautiful and other worldly.

The Trapeze Dress

Posted by Rebekah Roy on April 16th, 2008

TrapezeDress vintage The Trapeze Dress

The triangular shape (A -line) dress has been around since the early 50’s. It was originally designed to be worn with low heels and bouffant hair – it later transformed into the baby doll dress during the 60’s. Vintage 1960 trapeze dress, $126. The trapeze dress has proven very popular over the past few seasons as it’s fun and easy to wear. The modern trapeze dress looks great with the highest of heels and it’s important that the dress fits well on the shoulders. This style looks best with bare legs as it’s important to create a balance because the dress hides your shape. Many designers have lots of different takes on this dress. The Osman Yousefzada’s dress has more of a sheen, a satin feel and in pink it’s very in keeping with the 60’s baby doll dress! Osman Yousefzada, trapeze dress from Spring/Summer 07, Stockists: Selfridges, Liberty, Podium and Fred Segal, Saks 5th Avenue. HM TrapezDress The Trapeze Dress

I love Hannah Marshall’s dress, which is in silk chiffon and has many layers. Hannah Marshall trapeze dress from Spring/Summer 08, £1,299.00 at Nina and Lola.

The high street’s take on the trapeze dress is more A-line, is may not be as exciting as the trapeze dress but the shape is still inspired by the trapeze dress.

Hannah Marshall gets New Generation Sponsorship

HM TrapezDress Hannah Marshall gets New Generation Sponsorship

It’s just been announced that Hannah Marshall will receive a New Generation Sponsorship to show her autumn/winter 2008-9 collection at the London Fashion Week Exhibition!

I love Hannah’s work; in it’s simplicity it’s true luxury. You always feel great when you wear her dresses. Above is a picture of the silk chiffon trapeze dress from her lookbook, which was shot by Carlos Lumiere and styled by me. Hannah’s the type of person that you can’t help but adore. She’s not a jaded fashionista; she’s sweet, extremely hard working and
very funny.

I asked Hannah for a quote, and here it is!

I have been in business less than a year, so to receive recognition and support from the British Fashion Council is so exciting, and I am really looking forward to exhibiting as part of New Generation sponsored by TOPSHOP this February.
