I love these coffee sacks. They do smell of coffee – which I consider a bonus but I think they would make a great satchel. Add a cool lining, some heavy duty hardwear and a worn leather strap and you’ve got a great bag!

I was at the Jaegar Spring Summer press day. I loved so many of the bags – right on trend and perfect for festival wear. I had the opportunity to chat with Jaegar’s Junior Accessory Buyer, Vivien Hsu.
What’s your favourite accessory for SS 2011?
I love the sunglass’ bag from the Jaeger SS11 catwalk show. It’s so practical and stylish! Even though it’s designed specifically to hold your sunglasses, its "roomy" enough to fit your phone, purse, keys and even some makeup.
As an accessories buyer do you work closely with the design and fashion team?
Yes, we have a very good relationship. To achieve the best result, it’s important to be able to give and take advice from one another, since we are all here to make beautiful products.
Where did you work before Jaeger?
I previously worked at Smythson for 3.5years, in the position of Leather Product Developer. Before that, I worked at J&M Davidson for 3 years in production.

Did you always want to work in fashion?
I’ve always had an avid interest in fashion, contemporary as well as vintage, so I was drawn to the industry from an early age, although my career in fashion didn’t kick off until 2004. I can often be found rifling through the rails at Portobello Market and other vintage fashion haunts.
What advice do you have for new accessory designers?
Keep an eye on the market, but without losing touch of your individual signature!

This season there are lots of knuckle duster rings and quite a few variations on them but I love this knuckle duster Swarovski Crystalized clutch. It’s called ‘Love Letter‘ by Maison du Posh!

I was quite excited about this launch as I was really looking forward to meeting Zandra Rhodes – she’s so cool! This is Zandra’s her first handbag collection for A/W10 at the at the Mandeville Hotel in London. The bags are distinctive with a bright pink lining and with rose gold hardware. It’s hard to beat the price point as the bags start at £30!

Zandra designs have been worn by a diverse group of admirers including Diana, Princess of Wales, Jackie Onassis, Elizabeth Taylor, Kelly Osborne, Ashley Olsen, Kate Moss and Naomi Campbell and Freddie Mercury of the rock group ‘Queen’ – this list is endless!
it’s easy to see why people like her work, it’s easy for them to identify with, it’s quirky and colourful but it accessible at the same time. Zandra has been designer for Opera companies since 2001 while designing two collection of her own label each year. She is also Chancellor of the University of the Creative Arts and devotes much of her time to the Fashion and Textile Museum in London.
