I really like Katie Price, aka Jordan from her glamour days. Some UK celebrities work so hard at being celebrities that you just can’t help but respect their work ethic!
She’s now come out with an equestrian line, which has equestrian clothing for women and (I love this)…horsewear! Horse and Hound magazine reports that her clothing is flying off the shelves.
Here is the fleece cooler, headset and even little leg warmers! Ok, they’re actually called fleece leg bandages but that doesn’t sound as glamourous.
Britney Spears & Russell Brand – MTV VMA 2008 ads have been playing on TV and of course I love them!
I like Britney Spears. I know sometimes her fashion choices are too much; they can be over the top or trailer trashy – but I like it. She takes a risk and goes for it. Too many celebrities, singers and girls bands, play it so safe that they have no personality and nothing that makes them special or unique. Of course Britney has been in the media since she was a mouseketeer so her fashion mistakes are pubic ones, but I can’t help but admire her.
So hip hip hooray for Britney!!! What will she do next!!!
Victim is one of my favourite shops. Most of Victim’s dresses are one of a kind, so they are very distinct and recognizable. They are made with vintage silks and lace: you feel very sexy and feminine when you wear them. Everything is designed by Mei-Hui Liu, a dear friend of mine.
Peaches Geldof was in Mei-Hui’s shop Thursday after shooting at Concrete – another very cool shop on Marshall Street. As reported in The Sun, The Mirror and The Daily Mail, after Peaches left Mei-Hui realized a dress was missing and called Peaches’ management. The dress was later returned and then paid for and a receipt was given. The dress was originally the feature piece for an upcoming fashion show.
It was great to run into one of my favourite Hannah’s – Hannah Almassi from Grazia!
A press day is when a PR presents the new collection to editors and stylists. Most PRs carry more than one brand and some brands are done in house. During the press day you can create a list of the clothes you’d like to feature in your up coming shoots for the next season. Everything we are looking at is autumn/winter 08. This might be the only time the pr has the whole collection in their showroom, as the clothes will always be coming and going to different shoots. For the higher end brands usually there are no duplicates so the one collection is shipped all over the world and used by all the magazines worldwide etc. Some brand have a press office in Europe and North American, they might even have variations in the collection to suit the different markets.
It’s the prs job to get the garment as much press as possible – but not just any press. I don’t really believe that all press is good press. Every brand has a list of preferred magazines & types of celebrities that it wants to be associated with, but of course many brands/prs can be very accommodating.
At these events there is always lots of chocolates and delicious things to nibble on! I may have had one to many flake bars…
