Some mornings it’s good to go out and just relax, enjoy the day and think about what a good week it’s been!

Paris Fashion Week and Rue Cambon

Paris Fashion Week and Rue Cambon

Paris Fashion Week and Rue Cambon

I love hotels. I know I mention this all the time but it’s only because it’s true. Hotel rooms are so tidy and I guess I just need to be free of my clutter and debris. I also like a hotel that gives you your own little coffee pot at breakfast (I drink tea in the morning at home but when I’m out I always have coffee).

When I was a student and in between flats I once shared my friend’s chambre de bonne (tiny single room flat usually on the top floor) across from Chanel on Rue Cambon, and for some reason I found it very funny that years later I’m staying on Rue Cambon but this time I’m at the lovely Castille Paris (33-37 Rue Cambon), right beside Chanel, for Paris Fashion Week! It seems ironic…but not accidental, it actually seems odd because it feels normal.

I love going to Paris because I really love cafes. It doesn’t matter how late it is, there is always a cafe open – it’s not the same as going to your local English pub. I’ve also decided that when I’m 75 I want to dress like a 75 year old, chic Parisian woman: clean lines, beautiful fabrics, a scarf, good shoes and nice hand bag. It gives me something to look forward to, and if I’m going to be old I’m going to dress well!

Balenciaga & Browns

Posted by Rebekah Roy on October 23rd, 2007

I went to see the Balenciaga Spring 2008 preview at Browns. It’s so fun to drink champagne and eat rose petal flavour macaroons from La Durée. Who says fashion isn’t a nice life – well actually nobody does! Anyway fashion is great, of course it’s greater if you have more money, but don’t we say that money can’t buy style? But honestly, with the team at Browns, it doesn’t matter if you have no style at all, you just have to have enough money and you’ll come out looking so good – just ask for Marcio. It used to really bother me when I was a teenager that some people could just go out and buy style, but now it doesn’t bother me at all. I like that anything can be bought or taught, and on a certain level I believe that style can be taught.
So how does this collection work? Well the colour palette is divided between North America and Europe. At the preview Browns only has the samples belonging to this side of the ocean. However if you like a garment in a print that sells in North America, at this particular moment in time you can order it and you can have any combination that you’d like. Not all these looks will be sold in Browns: many of the looks will sell out before they ever even hit the shop floor!

Cafes

Saw this cafe while on my way to meet some friends in Soho. It looked quite cute inside, you could smell the coffee and they had lots of pin up girl postcards!

“Slim Fit 20″ Caffeine Tights

Posted by Rebekah Roy on June 20th, 2006

I love Tights Please. I love their over the knee socks with bows and wear them all the time. And now they are offering "Caffeine Tights"! Now, I am a big coffee lover. I love the smell of coffee, coffee beans covered in chocolate and just hanging out in cafes. But tights? I’m a bit skeptic?! Hmmm

How do they work?
Body temperature causes the release of caffeine microcapsules
into the skin increasing the metabolic rate and the burning of fat.
This can reduce the circumference of thighs, cellulite and the "orange
peel" effect.

Any thoughts?
