Ice cream has always been my weakness and one of the things that every tourist should experience is the "99" – a Cadbury Flake bar in a soft ice cream cone.
In 1930, Cadbury started producing a smaller version of the standard Flake bar especially for ice cream cones. No one is really sure why it’s called the "99" as it was never 99p or 99mm long. Some people say it was because King of Italy had an elite guard of 99 soldiers and 99 came to mean special or first class.
I took this photo near the Tate Modern and lots of people were eating "99’s"!
The venue on Kingly Street was packed! There were several levels to this club and the music was really good!
These are super delicious. I am a biscuit/chocolate fan. I recently discovered Cadbury Caramel Shortbread and now have tasted the Caramel Nibbles – they actually have a reclosable seal – but who’s kidding who, a pack is really a single serving!
I’m a Cadbury fan and as a stylist I like a good collaboration. It’s difficult for designers to find the right collaboration, you want have your dresses on the right celebrities and in the right magazines. Giles Deacon debuted in 2004 and he’s become a British icon. He’s collaborated with Mulberry Handbags in 2007 and New Look from 2008 to the present. When I heard that Giles recently designed a dress for the Cadbury Caramel Bunny – Nibbles – I wasn’t surprised, just delighted. Two British brands, it just makes sense.
I think it’s savvy of Cadbury to collaborate with British brands – Cadbury itself is iconic. George Cadbury was the third son of Quaker John Cadbury, who founded Cadbury in 1824!
Yummy fashion! For the past few year Cadbury has hosted a Chocolate Couture Collection fashion show! I’d feel bad wearing any of this after inevitably eating my buttons…
