I just happened to pass by this crochet exibition. It’s not often that one comes across a crochet exibition – this is the first one I’ve ever seen and I just had to go in. It’s Olek’s first UK exibition as she’s based in New York. The exhibition took 6 months to prepare. You have to look closely to see all the objects as everything has a camouflage effect. It’s a small busy space with quite a provactative title "I do not expect to be a mother but I do expect to die alone".

I really like both versions of The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo, based on Swedish author Stieg Larsson’s novel. In David Fincher’s  U.S. adaptation, with actress Rooney Mara-playing Lisbeth Salander you can’t help but notice her understated look. It’s the 12 piercings that she really had done and the short crazy girl fringe that makes the look fiece and slightly disturburing but the clothes are modern armour. They are tomboyish, rebellious and easy to wear.

The author is Swedish, the film is set in Sweden and H&M is Swedish so it only make sense that H&M wanted to…

Love her! Lana Del Rey’s new single "Born To Die" will be released on Sunday 23rd January but you can see the video already! Her album, also titled "Born To Die" will be released a week later on Monday January 30th. It’s interesting to see how her style is evolving and we can expect to see her in quite a few appearences over the next few months. Look out for her on Saturday Night Live January 14th!

I love the retro powder room. These images are from One Whitehall Place, The Royal Horseguards Hotel. The chaise long, the mirrors and the vanity desks give you the impression that you’re in a time forgotten or a film set and you just want to have dramatic event or intense girly conversation like Marilyn Monroe in How To Marry A Millionaire, 1953, with Betty Grable and Lauren Bacall .

I love this mascara! It feels very light on the lashes, gives lots of volume, doesn’t smudge and actually washes off easily! DJV Volume Beautenizer Lash is Japan’s biggest selling mascara so it’s not surprizing that its really voluptuous. It’s a fibre, and I’m not sure exactly what that means, but it feels different when you apply it and I don’t need lots of coats to get very long lashes.

It costs more than your average drugstore mascara but less than most luxury brand – £18 at CultBeauty.Definitely worth it!

I used to have a cup of tea in the morning. I don’t know what changed but now I have a pot of tea and a little jug for milk. I think one cup was never quite enough and I’d always feel too pressed for time to make a second cup of tea – but with a pot of tea is already there (I’m all for efficiency). My grandmother alway used a tea pot – I don’t think she ever made tea in a mug – she always had tea cups. Although I love the tea cup I can’t…

I saw these shoes on the platform at a tube station and thought someone forgot them while changing to into their flats, but on closer inspection I noticed that the heel had snapped. That’s just one of worst things that can happen on an evening out – you can’t really wear just one shoe and limp around all evening, so this wearer just decided to ditch both shoes!

It’s really important to take time out and it doesn’t have to be days or even hours. It’s the season of tea and cake – the perfect way to spend a bit time enjoying Christmas cheer!
