From the time her first word ‘Shoe…’ was uttered – clothes, shoes and how they were made and work together became a passion for Kate Kearney.

Early inspiration came from her Nana, a tailor and dressmaker. Kate would often be surrounded by bespoke pieces and learnt from a young age that though clothes may be a necessity, fashion pieces could be an art form. Her mother modelled in the early 80s and she and her Dad ensured Kate grew up in a house full of eclectic music (The Rolling Stones and Motown to Country & Western) and creativity.

After studying for a diploma from the Surrey Institute of Art and Design, during which year (2004), she was a finalist for Student Designer of The Year, Kate went on to study a BA in Fashion at Kingston University. Here, during work experience with both designers and fashion stylists, her focus career -wise shifted from design to styling. Since then she has worked assisting various fashion stylists, styled online catalogue shoots and assisted on many editorials.
