I’m loving the palm trees in LA – somehow it really signifies that I’m really in California.
It wouldn’t be right to travel all this way and not spend a day at the beach. Malibu Beach is beautiful but the Pacific Ocean is freeezing. There are lots of surfers – which just seems really cool and there’s even an American Apparel right beside the beach – so if you need a sundress, swimsuit or towel you’re sorted.
I don’t think I ever realized that Los Angeles would feel like a desert – hot and dry with mountain peaks that could actually be snow covered in the winter. It’s been really hot and sunny, and most of our shoot time as been spent outside – which is great. It’s always a bit disappointing when you’re in another country and you spend all your days inside a studio.
It’s understandable that everyone wants to move here. I worked with a makeup artist yesterday who just moved here from New York because of the weather. There’s lots of work here but really it’s the climate and the lifestyle that makes me want to be here. I’ll just have to come back again!
I’d never seen a lemon tree until today and was quite delighted!
In case you wonder why there are so many footballers in Madonna new video ‘Gimme All Your Luvin”, Madonna is performing during the half time show at this year’s Super Bowl today and about 19.8 million watched it last year. MIA and Nicki Minaj will also be performing.
I quite like this song and can imagine listening to it while on the treadmill. I’ve had several friends complain about Madonna being too retouched but it’s not a makeup commericial and it does have a tongue in cheek feel to it plus the whole video has that soft focus slick feel. I love the styling; Madonna looks great in the hot pants and leather jacket and her blond Marilyn Monroe hair is reminiscent of her 1986/1987 style.
I was quite excited as I got to style a video for Nero’s ‘Promises,’ their fouth single, which will be released July 23rd. it’s such a good song and my team and I couldn’t stop dancing around. Nero is electronic music artists Dan Stephens and Joe Ray, with Alana Watson on vocals. They’re known for dubstep and won the 2010 Beatport awards for Best Dubstep Act and Best Dubstep Track for "Act Like You Know" in 2009.
