Vivienne Westwood’s Red Label show at London Fashion Week was a huge event and it took place at Earls Court’s Brompton Hall. It must have had a capacity for over a thousand people, so of course it was a star studded crowd with Pamela Anderson, Kate Moss, Erin O’Conner, Dita Von Teese, Emma Watson and Jamie Winstone just to name a few!
The collection was everything you’d expect from fringing, sequins, bright colours, PVC and the most stunning hats by Prudence Millinery. The hat’s were my favourite part; there were oversized hats & sun visors in gold, dresses with hoods and cloches type hats. You can see all the looks on Vogue.com
Of course the message is just as important as the clothes. We were given the Active Resistance to Propaganda – Manifesto Vivienne Westwood. On the credit list we are reminded that "Leonard Peltier has been in prison for 31 years for a crime he did not commit.."
Before the show I met up with the gorgeous Jessica Bumpus, one of the fashion writers for Vogue.com. She’s one of those girls who is effortlessly cool with her strawberry blond hair and red lips.

So many people!!!

Alexia of Luxure Magazine looking fabulous!

I’m not a fan of fake tans – it seem kind of cheap to me, I know it’s a look, a style that so many people love and some people do look better with a tan – just not an orange fake tan… Anyway a red head should have beautiful porcelain skin like Girls Aloud’s Nicola Roberts. I spotted her at the show and asked if I could take her photo – I just love her red hair! Nicola’s recently started her own make up line – Dainty Doll. I love the packaging and it’s in every goody bag this London Fashion Week!

I did a fashion shoot the other day with ethically made clothes. 15 graduate students from the UK went to South Africa & Ghana to work with underdeveloped remote communities to create more business. The students worked with local artists and designers assisting them in the making of a new collection. The collection will be sold on line in October.

I do enjoy working on shoots – but before the actual day of the shoot the preparations can be quite stressful. The casting is vital and takes up the most time, then organizing the hair and make up and of course finding any accessories: shoes, tights etc that we might need for the shoot. Fortunately the better prepared you are the more likely the shoot will come together in the end.The models were so great and so much fun as everyone was quite excited to be part of such a cool project!
Anyway I was able to book one of the model for a show for London Fashion Week – which starts tomorrow. I’ll keep you posted as I’ve been working on several shows so it should be a good week!!!
If you like an item, maybe a dress, are you more likely to buy it because it was ethical made or is that just a bonus?

This is some back stage footage of the team that I worked with on the Harvey Nichols shoot in Istanbul. It was really cool experience to shoot a model hanging upside down. It’s really hard on the models’ foot; the foot is quite heavy wrapped up and all the blood is rushing to the models head. Modelling is harder than it looks! Anyway I really loved working with this team. I hadn’t met them before so they’re taking a risk working with someone new. They were amazing; it’s just great when everyone really does their job and everything seems to fall perfectly into place.

This is one of the images that I styled for Harvey Nichols Istanbul. It was quite an amazing shoot because the models were hung up side down by their foot. It’s quite difficult for the model and painful so the team has to work quickly!
