I just happened to pass by this crochet exibition. It’s not often that one comes across a crochet exibition – this is the first one I’ve ever seen and I just had to go in. It’s Olek’s first UK exibition as she’s based in New York. The exhibition took 6 months to prepare. You have to look closely to see all the objects as everything has a camouflage effect. It’s a small busy space with quite a provactative title "I do not expect to be a mother but I do expect to die alone".

Elizabeth Lau is super cute and so are her clothes! There’s always something whimsical about her work and it’s not surprizing that her Spring Summer 2012 collection was inspired by Olive Oyl and Brigitte Bardot. There’s lots of knitwear for SS12 and black and white dresses, t-shirts trousers and sweaters.
I’ve worked with Alice Palmer for several seasons and this season I’m particularly excited about her collection. The colour pallete is black, teal, blue, purple and shocking pink and every piece has gold or bronze in it. It’s very glam rock and inspired by the early 70’s and David Bowie. The collection is also inspired by op art, mainly the works of Bridget Riley and Valsarely. Op Art or optical art are images that create the illusion of pattern and movement.
I love the structured jackets and how easy the fringe dresses are to wear. It’s hard to believe that some of these pieces are knit! This collection is fun, sexy and luxurious.
