Julia Roxburgh Tea Pots

I used to have a cup of tea in the morning. I don’t know what changed but now I have a pot of tea and a little jug for milk. I think one cup was never quite enough and I’d always feel too pressed for time to make a second cup of tea – but with a pot of tea is already there (I’m all for efficiency). My grandmother alway used a tea pot – I don’t think she ever made tea in a mug – she always had tea cups. Although I love the tea cup I can’t quite justify the need for a saucer – so it’s always tea in a mug.

I saw this tea set at Fortnum & Mason, by ceramic artist Julia Roxburgh. I really like her work not just because it’s whimsical and fun but her style is coherent and easily identifiable.

Coffee

CoffeePot Coffee

I went to the Albion cafe on Boundary Street for breakfast. For some reason whenever I have the opportunity to order an individual pot of coffee I can’t resist and I have to order it. Even if I don’t really want coffee, I just want the experience of an individual pot of coffee. This pot was quite cute as it had that campfire reto feel with genuine burn marks.

It’s cold outside, so there’s nothing more delightful then having a cup of hot chocolate with friends at Fortnum and Mason.

Dancing away to retro 50’s & 60’s music, it was quite a fun evening as this quirky basement club has a prohibition/school club feel to it!
