At London Fashion Weekend I didn’t expect to find a streamer that’d I’d love – but these ones are so light and cute. Plus they come in six different colours! Often at a studio you have the big heavy professional steamers that take a bit of time to heat up, but also not every studio has a steamer. At a shoot we spend a lot of time steaming and pressing the garments so having a good steamer, iron and ironing board is essential. The Fridja steamer will actually fit into my suitcase with the rest of my kit so it’s quite easy to bring with me.
My team and I had a great time at ShopStyle at London Fashion Weekend. It was great to meet so many people who just loved fashion. After styling 3 shows at London Fashion Week it’s great to meet the customer – the end user! It’s really important not to forget who fashion is really for! It was truly a weekend of best friends and I met so girls who come to London Fashion Weekend each season for a girly day out.
We had so many students come by the stand who were interested in studying fashion.We even had a girl who was about age 11 who’d made her own dress and who hopes to become a fashion designer. I was really surprized how many young girls want to work in the fashion industry and of course I understand why. The day was not only about giving out styling tips, but advice about what a fashion stylist does, where to study, what short courses to take, how to get an internship and understanding the different jobs that exist in the fashion industry.
I was quite excited to see our 5th issue of Phoenix on the newsstands today at my local magazine shop in Spitalfields. Phoenix magazine comes out three times a year during fashion week (September and February, and graduate fashion week in June). We’re already working on our next issue! Can’t wait.
Today I was working on the next issue of Phoenix magazine, which comes out during London Fashion Week. It’s a busy week as we have five shoots this week, but so far everything has gone really well and we had great weather for out shoot in Oxfordshire.
