This shoot was quite a huge production as we shot in Switzerland with photographer Damien Krisl with set design by Sylvain CabouatI. We shot in a film studio as we had so many different set ups and we needed a swimming pool for one of the shots. It was quite a big production and it took weeks to plan the concept and execution, which was great as it gave me lots of time to get the exact looks I wanted. We also had seven models for the shoot so we had lots to prep!

Nail polish has gotten more complicated and there are so many choices – it makes it hard to choose. That’s why I’m aways happy when I receive a new nail polish in a gift bag. At first I wasn’t too sure about the colour – it was a bit too neutral for me and what did leather effect really mean? Of course leather is everywhere, every shop has several pieces of leather or leather like fabric at the moment – it’s trend that I quite like – but nails? The polish applies like a cream but dries with a leather effect (like it says on the bottle). To my surprise I quite liked the colour and how the nails felt to the touch!

One of the most important parts of doing a fashion show is the hair and make up test. Today we did the hair and makeup test for Fashion Scout’s Ones to Watch designers: Patrick Li, Yeashin, and Yulia Kondranina. To prepare for their show over the past few months the designers have been collecting images of hair and makeup looks that they like and that inspire them. It’s a group show so the models are shared, and this season everyone has some ideas that overlap so there isn’t any great need to compromise.

Head makeup artist Lan Nguyen Grealis is designing the makeup look by drawing on the

Indira from Toni and Guy is prepping the hair of our very sweet model Emma Atkins from Storm.

Attending a wedding is one of the best ways to celebrate the weekend and the New Year. It’s life and love affirming plus you get to dress up! I was surprised how many women wore black and many of the women regarless of age wore little fur or fake jackets or stoles – actually even one of the men wore one too.

Here is a glimpse of the wedding dress – it was stunning and took over 300 hours to make by eleven people.

I met Corrie Nielsen a few seasons ago and I knew that I wanted to work with her and be part of her team.
This season Corrie collaborated with the Royal Botanic Gardens and was able to see Kew’s seed libraries, original documentation of Charles Darwin, galleries and a vast catalogue of images. The moodboard in Corrie’s studio is a whole wall covered with photographs of flowers and plants that she photographed at Kew Gardens – it’s beautiful.
A simple way to show flowers is by prints but there are no prints in this collection. It is the shapes in this collection that are inspired by flowers. We opened the show with the Peony Rose Jacket. This is one of my favourite pieces as it’s a true signature piece: a sculpted form with elaborate tailoring. I also love the hidden details in this collection. In the centre of the flower, of the Peony Roses, there are tiny hand cut yellow leather pieces forming the stamen. It’s an exquisite detail. Corrie designs for women and it’s easy to envision her pieces on the red carpet. This collection is wearable perhaps with the exception of the Greenhouse dress unless of course you’re a brave fashionista like Anna Dello Russo. The collection consists of many separates with names like: The Tulip Skirt, The Mushroom Blouse, The Birds of Paradise Jacket and the Lilium Blouse. The finale avant-garde dip-dyed wedding dress with trailing swathes of finely layered ivory silk is Corrie’s interpretation of Charles Darwin’s theory of evolution.
