Casting Day London Fashion Week

It's always about the model - no matter how amazing the clothes are and having the most talented glam squad if you don't have the right model for the show (or the shoot) you're in trouble. Fortunately at the Fashion Scout Casting we got to see over 300 models. When you see that many girls you realise there is not just one idea of beauty. You might find a model that's not right for your show but she's the perfect girl for another show. There are ideals about beauty but really it's subjective. I'm styling three shows this season, Ones to Watch, Fashion DNA & David Ferreira and each designer has their own unique point of view of what type of model they're looking for. This season we need more models, in two of the shows we have menswear and we want a model for every look. For my three shows we need about 70 models! I've been told that there are quite a few shows that have menswear this season. We also had a few curve models at the casting this season which we hadn't had in previous seasons - so lots of positive changes this season. Above is model Sonny Turner @milkmanagement who we just featured in the new issue of Disorder Magazine. We also noted that many of the models seemed more petite this seasons, not sure if this is over all or  just a random observation. Lots of size 5 shoes...Every season it's such a good opportunity to see lots of models and so many of the new girls coming through. They are as diverse as my designers, who are from Poland, Lagos, China and Pakistan. I like that London showcases designers from all over the world and that they all want to show here! London is special!                   ONES TO WATCH; KRASIMIRA STOYNEVA, JOANNA BERLING, RU, ORANGE CULTURE
