Some events are very interesting from a branding perspective – this was the launch of the new Bentley Fragrances line for men, by the same company that makes the iconic luxury automobiles. The Bentley brand is all about very high quality and this event reflected that – the location was the Sky Garden at the new 20 Fenchurch Street, also known as the “walkie talkie” in London because of it’s shape. The Sky Garden is on the top floor and is a very open, luxurious space with lots of foliage and incredible views of London. There was wine, champagne and wonderful canapes, and the event itself was so well-executed that it actually reflected the brand: confident, assured, luxurious yet unpretentious. It was a relaxed gathering that started with a table presenting samples of different ingredients incorporated into the fragrances. I loved the fragrances themselves – they were deep and woody but also had the freshness of a sports fragrance too so they weren’t heavy or overpowering like a lot of men’s fragrances can be – they’re rich and bracing or refreshing at the same time.
