MASH-UP show at Digital Fashion Week Singapore

imageimageIt was MASH-UP's first show at Digital Fashion Week Singapore and you could feel how excited the crowd was for the designers. The Singapore fashion scene is quite small - everyone seems to know everyone and they all seem quite supportive of each other. The inspiration for the collection was the artwork of the Algerian revolution in the 60's. The strength of women in their eyes and Picasso's portrait Les Femmes d’Alger.MASH-UP does most of their sampling in their studio. They are able to manufacture most of their collection in Singapore and there is now a digital printer in Singapore which has opened up new possibilities for the designers. The designers all met at art school and bring different talents to the table.  Shaf was a textile student, Nat's interests were in styling and Daniela was interested in design.Like many new designers they all have other jobs.imageimageimageimageimageimageimageimageimage
