Sankuanz Catwalk Show at London Collections: Men SS15

imageGQ China presented Sankuanz's SS15 collection at London Collection: Men. Sankuanz Zhe was born in Fujian, China  and one year after he graduated from Xiamen University he launch his label. He started off slowly, doing illustration on t-shirts, giving himself time to let the brand evolve naturally. His first show debuted his AW13 collection during Shanghai Fashion Week and he exhibited in Paris in 2014. He already has a cult following so going to this show I had no idea of what to expect but there was a general buzz of excitement when the first model walked out wearing white streetwear with a flashing LED mouthpiece -  it caught everyone's attention. The collection is distinctive with it's white inspired tuxedo influences and playful illustrations and prints inspired by Russian prison tattoos from the 1940’s. Of course it was the oversized pink with blue polka dot lobster hands that really grabbed my attention! I was told they are quite heavy and make from ceramic. The end of the show was quite joyous as two people sprinted down the catwalk, I'm sure one of them was the designer, but not quite sure who the other person was!imageimageimageimageimageimageimageimageimageimageimageimageimageimageimageimageimageimage
