imageToday photographer Darren Black and set designer Sarah May and I gave a fashion talk to designers, stylists and photographers at The Femina Group office in central Jakarta today. We also met with the designer that we will be working during the next few days.Of course we managed to get in some good shopping today and we were quite inspired by all the designers that we saw, so much so that we've planned an extra editorial shoot on our last day. We went to the traditional department store, Alun Alun - it's a perfect place if you're looking for batik prints and art. We then went to The Goods department that carries emerging Indonesian designers. We were very fortunate to have Diza of  Jakarta Fashion Week as our fashion tour guide. We also went to visit Escalier Jakarta which is considered to be the Colette of Jakarta offering British brands including Simone Rocha, J.W. Anderson and Sophie Webster. All the shops are beautifully merchandised and the customer service experience is excellent. After shopping we had the most amazing Indonesian dinner at Tesate. It seems it's easier for most people to go out for dinner after work and then head home after the traffic has died down. People are often up at 5am for morning prayers, however Jakarta has a thriving night life and we went to two clubs: Lucy in The Sky with it's open roof top bar and then downstairs to The Goods Diner. Of course we were back at our hotel by midnight as we have a planning meeting with our teams tomorrow morning.imageimageimageimageimageimageimageimageimageimageimageimageimage
