British Asian Fashion Week Preview 2014

British Asian Fashion Week Preview took place May 15th at the Alchemy Festival at Southbank Centre and it was all about celebrating 'double identity'.If  in every British Asian's household there are two types of dress, a western one and an eastern more traditional wardrobe over the past few decades these looks have slowly merging to create a fusion that is being offered on a broader market. In the UK several Indian designers including Manish Arora and Falguni & Shane Peacock launched at London Fashion Week and are now showing at Paris Fashion Week and at New York Fashion Week respectively. All the looks were beautiful and it was easy to imagine most of the them at a gala event or on the red carpet. I can't but help admire embellishment and embroidery and there was lots.  Many of the looks are  based on the sari but we also saw some layers - good for British weather and there were some amazing coats and jewellery.imageimageimageimageimageimageimageimageimageimageimageimageimageimageimageimage
