This year Graduate Fashion Week will take place May 31st – June 3rd at the Truman Breweries on Brick Lane. On May 1st Graduate Fashion Week held a reception with a catwalk show at the Houses of Parliament. It was my first visit to the Houses of Parliament – it’s an amazing building and there were actually several events that evening but it was easy to spot the fashion crowd in a sea of suits.
The evening was a celebration of up and coming talent, and it was an opportunity to discover the next generation of what the UK fashion industry has to offer. It’s really quite extraordinary to have a centralised showcase of young talent. Very few countries are able to offer something like this and promote their fashion graduates.
The 2014 graduates below participated in the catwalk show.
Mayya Aga – Kingston University
Laura Athey Middlesex Universtiy
Lavinia Cadar – UCA Epsom
Pei Chen Yang – Arts University Bournemouth
Chloe Fuller Norwich University of the Arts
