Ada + Nik Menswear SS14 Collection

imageNik + Ada is an eco-friendly menswear line made in the UK, focusing on wearability - simple clean lines with a twist. Ada Zanditon has designed an eco fashion forward womenswear line since 2009. I styled her first catwalk show in September 2009 as part of Fashion Scout's Ones to Watch. This is her first venture into menswear, co-creating the collection with Nik Thatkkur a stylish brand strategist and the Director of Nephew London (known for his fashion sensibilities). There was quite a bit of excitement and anticipation around this capsule collection - no one was quite sure what to expect. The event was held at the fashionable St Martins Lane Hotel during London Collection: Men. The black and white fabrics are beautiful and every piece had unique details: a removable zipper sleeve, fringe with eel skin, leather trim and crisp organic cotton shirts with open cut detail in the back. The leather is done using a "veg" tanning process - the most eco friendly process available but all the garments are offered without the leather as an option. The collection includes t-shirts, shorts, shirts, a kilt and leather jackets. The biggest surprise was swimwear - with cutout detail in black and in a print. This past couple of seasons we've been seeing young designers like Katie Eary and Charlotte Taylor include swimwear in their collections. Price points for the Ada + Nik collection are quite reasonable, with t-shirts retailing at £100. The collection has a luxurious minimalistic feel with Zanditon’s signature style.image  image  imageimageimageimageimage
