Marques’Almeida AW13 Collection
Posted by Rebekah Roy on March 17th, 2013

I met Marta Marques and Paulo Almeida at the London Showroom in Paris and was quite exciting to see their work. It’s young, fresh and has loads of attiude.
Many of the pieces are deconstructed and oversized - it’s really dress-up streetwear. I love the top (in the picture above) and the combinations of fabrics. The denim is very lightweight and soft – it’s produced in Japan, and they use raw silk and fur in the collection as well. There are tailored biker jackets and tight trousers – everything sits together so well as a collection – I love how rock’n'roll and glam it all is
Marta and Paulo met at CITEX Fashion School in Portugal, from which they both graduated in 2007. They moved to London in 2009 where they gained industry experience at Vivienne Westwood / Anglomania and Preen between them. They completed their Fashion MA at Central Saint Martins and began working as a duo – this is their 3rd collection.

Loving the burnt orange biker jacket!
