It’s been a busy week of model castings and fittings and now the celebrations begin. A great way to spend a pre-London Fashion Week evening is a girly night in drinking champagne, painting nails and deciding which shows to go see! It all starts tomorrow!
Even though I feel like I’m not suppose to, I know it’s a commercial holiday and I don’t want to be smug but I love Valentines Day. I love that so many girls wear red and you know that they ment to wear red. I love that people seem just a wee bit nicer on the tube and you can smile at a stranger and that it’s just nice (and not weird). I love that florist are busy delivery flower and I love that when I was little everyone in my class received a Valentine.
When did River Island get so good? It’s not a shop that I visit on a regular basis but I do pop by whenever I need some sexy shoes or cool accessories for a video and most makeup artists I know all seem to own a pair of jeans from River Island. It seems like River Island has been quietly having a makeover and everyone is starting to take notice.
We recently saw the return of Chelsea Girl, an 80’s inspired 40 piece collection, go into 40 River Island stores, while edited ranges went into another 150 of River Island’s stores. There was also a pop-up shop in Selfridges on Oxford Street and they sell at ASOS. It was really their magazine that peaked my interested and now Ellen Von Unworth has just shot another campaign for them!
In case you wonder why there are so many footballers in Madonna new video ‘Gimme All Your Luvin”, Madonna is performing during the half time show at this year’s Super Bowl today and about 19.8 million watched it last year. MIA and Nicki Minaj will also be performing.
I quite like this song and can imagine listening to it while on the treadmill. I’ve had several friends complain about Madonna being too retouched but it’s not a makeup commericial and it does have a tongue in cheek feel to it plus the whole video has that soft focus slick feel. I love the styling; Madonna looks great in the hot pants and leather jacket and her blond Marilyn Monroe hair is reminiscent of her 1986/1987 style.
