Kat Maconie – Fabulous Footwear

I was quite delighted to meet Kat Maconie at her press day as I’ve used her Autumn Winter 2011 shoes in a shoot for Phoenix magazine. Kat is a self-taught shoe designer – which is quite exciting as she’s a great example of the different paths to becoming a successful designer. Kat gained quite bit of experience while working as a buyer for Whistles and she also worked with Tomasz Starzewski and Sitting Pretty in design, promotion and wholesale. She then took a few short courses in shoe design at London College of Fashion and launched her company in 2009! It’s quite inspiring to see what Kat has accomplished in such a short time: in less than three years she’s already stocked in Poste Mistress, ASOS, Urban Outfitters plus boutiques in Europe, Toyko, and the US.
Kat has designed shoes for Felder Felder for the past three seasons!
I’m loving the rose gold shoes and the new buckle.
