Today I was doing prep and visiting several PRs in central London so after running around London I was quite delighted to be offered a Red Bull at Pop PR. I’ve always been a fan of Red Bull and of course I love fashion so having Red Bull at a PR is definitely a good thing for me!

I’ve known Alice Stone since she first launched Lily and Lionel. Alice has just returned from LA after a very successful trip. We caught up over Pinkberry frozen yogurt at Selfridges.

Since you set up in 2008 what’s been your biggest challenge?
AS -Establishing the business on my own. In one day I could go from answering a press enquiry, to sorting out production and placing orders. As the business has grown so has the Lily and Lionel team. This gives me more time to focus on my favorite part- designing.
What is you most popular print?
AS- It has to be our iconic ‘Cruz’ orange and electric blue ikat printed scarf (see image attached). The statement colours are perfect for the season ahead, and the bold design allows you do dress up the most simple of outfits. Supermodel Edie Campbell was recently seen in the blue and cream colour way at the Goodwood Races.
What collaborations have you been doing?
AS- We’re in incredibly exciting talks with a super talented photographer … I can not give too much away but, all will be revealed soon!
You started on online, and now have quite a few stockist world wide. Do you think having an online presence help you with sales?
AS- 100%, having an e-commerce store has been monumental in growing the brand. It is so important with the rise of bloggers, e-zines and social networking to have an online presence.
What other products will you be adding to your collection?
AS- We’re launching a new capsule collection of luxury leather handbags. There are a great selection of totes which have a fantastic Lily and Lionel twist!

This is such a lovely, quirky and poignant exhibition. Everyday objects represent a relationship that’s ended. The objects and their stories have been donated by different poeple from all over the world. It’s interesting to see how one’s relationship can be summed up by an object.

The exhibition ends September 4th. 38 Earlham Street, WC2H 9LH London

I really like patterned tights. These tights are from Phanntiq by Anna Skodbo – they are part of her first collection. I’m quite excited for Anna as her first collection has done quite well and received quite a bit of press coverage. She graduated in June 2010 with a First Class Honours degree from Hertfordshire University.
We had tea the other day and I was able to have a little preview of her SS12 collection. Phanntiq will be exhibiting with Felicities Presents… during London Fashion Week and the tights are available at 123 Bethnal Green Road.

Today there was Tea Dancing in Spitalfields Market, with live music by the New Covent Garden Dance Orchestra. Couples were Waltzing and Fox Trotting. There was something so beautiful and romantic about people dancing out in the open market during the rain.
