Women of the World Equals Concert

Women of the World Equals concert was more than just a concert - it was an event and celebration! Equals is a partnership of over 20 charities brought together by Annie Lennox to celebrate the 100th anniversary of International Women's Day. The Equals line up included V V Brown, Paloma Faith, Annie Lennox and Kate Nash, as well as speakers and short films. This was the first Equals event and will now become an annual event!

It was incredible to see what one woman can do on a stage - it was just Annie Lennox and her piano - totally amazing! There's a great interview with the Independent and  Annie Lennox was quoted saying that "Pop stars are so busy having a career that they don't really have a lot of time for activism."

One of the reasons I really like working with Kate Nash is she's very vocal. She's recently been on tour in the US and has been working with Music Unites (a music education program for children in the underfunded inner city school systems) and Kate launched the Rock ‘N Roll for Girls After School Music Club in Los Angeles.

Paloma Faith was great! She performed after Annie Lennox - not an easy thing to do - but she was amazing. One of her songs that really got the crowd cheering was Me and My Cellulite from her second album.
