An interview with Bishi at SHOWstudio

Today we are at SHOWstudio which is quite exciting. Everyone here is very friendly, kind and very welcoming. We're busy setting up the projections and doing hair and makeup for the Livestudio: Bishi - Livestream January 20th, 19;30. So I have time for a mini-interview with Bishi!

How multidisciplinary is your work?
My work is a reflection of the spectrum of my interests. As well as Music, Fine Art, Fashion & Technology I am inspired by Politics, Philosophy, History & a shed load of Trash Culture as the backbone behind my work.

How would you describe your style?
I would describe my style as voluptuous, sculptural & sensual.

What music do you listen to?

At the moment I am listening to Sister Rosetta Tharpe, Zola Jesus, Brian Eno & Jon Hopkins.

What instruments do you play?
I play the piano, sitar, ukulele, electric bass, auto-harp & synthesizer. I adore new gadgets like the Kaossilator & Korg Monotron as much as I love writing & producing music. I just want to do more!!!!

What will you be doing in the US?
In NYC I will be giving a world premiere of my choir pieces for The Brooklyn Youth Chorus, which were commissioned by composer, Nico Muhly. I will also be spending time in LA working on new music. Stay Tuned!

These images are different objects in SHOWstudio and some are from their Flower Exhibition.
