Swarovski Elements and the Abaya
Posted by Rebekah Roy on October 20th, 2010

I was part of a panel discussion at a Swarovski Elements event. It was quite an interesting topic – fashion meets tradition and the abaya. On the panel from left to right was moderator Courtney Blackman, Rashid Al Khaja, the largest manufacturer of traditional wear in Dubai, fashion designer Ziad Antoun, Ute Schumacher, Swarovski’s head of trend and design, Rasha Khouri, the founder of Dia-Boutique.com, me and on my left was fashion designer Maria Grachvogel. It’s interesting to talk about how fashion can transcend culture and boundries.
The night before at Swarovski Crystalized (across from Liberty) there was a fashion show and party to celebrate the opening event of the Jawaher exhibition, which you can see there from from 20 Oct. – 1 Nov.

This was a quite a fun party to dress up for and in celebration I wore a wonderful dress from Falguni & Shane Peacock!
