Imran Aman of The Business of Fashion interviewed Natalie Massenet of Net-A-Porter for the second in the series Fashion Pioneers. During the interview Natalie shared a few tips on how to get their attention if you’re a designer and think your collection should be sold on Net-a-Porter.
Don’t e-mail or contact her husband, friends or mother. It’s business so contact Natalie – she really does read her e-mails. Use catchy subject lines and include images or links, but nothing so big that it crashes her computer. You have to illustrate how you differentiate your brand from similar brands, and how Net-a-Porter would tell your story. Finally, don’t give up: if they’re not interested in you one season they may be needing you next season – trends change!
