Thomas Sabo – so rock ‘n’ roll

I don’t know of many rock ‘n‘ roll artists who are customizing their own jewellery and then starting their own jewellery company, but that’s exactly what Thomas Sabo did over 30 years ago.
Thomas Sabo travelled to Goa, where he bought local silver chains and statement pendants as a way to customize his rockstar look. His jewellery was so popular that he started to sell the Goan silver to eager customers in his home town of Lauf an der Pegnitz in Bavaria, and in 1984 he set up his own jewellery company there.
I bought some Thomas Sabo jewellery a few years ago with my per diem while while I was on tour with Billy Idol, and I still get comments on the the pieces every time I wear them!
