Pre-Fashion Week!
Posted by Rebekah Roy on February 18th, 2010

Everyone thinks that Fashion Week is super busy but it’s really the weeks that lead up to it that are so exciting. I always feel privileged to see a designer’s collection come together. You might have seen someone’s sketches and inspiration months ago, and looked at fabric swatches and then finally the toile.
Oh, to see the final garments – it’s like Christmas for me. To slowly unzip the garement bag or to simply take off the plastic cover. To see an idea become a reality. I love the idea that something wonderful could happen to somebody in that dress – maybe they get engaged, receive an award or fall in love – just something that gives the dress a memory. It’s so exciting to see everything come together – almost more exciting then the actual show. The show for me is the end – the work is done and now it’s up to the sales team and the process beings again!
