Bourjois!

I love a good beauty event! It's not only a great resource to check out a brand's latest products but, also an opportunity to hang out and gossip with my fellow makeup artists. I love to exchange info and ideas with them on what they love and hate using products wise. I had a great time at the Bourjois press event!

Makeup Artists Sandra Cooke and Diana Asherson testing out Bourjois new lipstick range.

A couple of my makeup artist buddies and I spent an evening testing out some of their newest bits. I really give Bourjois top marks for their mini eye liner pencils (these are great if you have a small budget and they are small enough to pop into your pocket for a night out) I also really like their lip cream/glosses-they do an amazing peach toned one which is very Kitsch ala Desperate Housewives. Their nail polishes have a lovely big, flat brush so they paint nails perfectly without bubbly clumps.

I don't believe in being a brand snob. Many of you who read Stylist Stuff know this; one week I may recommend a top of the line pro product and the next week I may mention the cheapest one money can buy. I think it's important to give all products a chance to see what kind of pay off they can provide. I always get asked "what make brand is the best?" Rather than respond with any particular brand I rather be able say I can tell you about the best products that each brand provides. This way I can give someone options and choice depending on their needs, wants and beauty budget.
