Pantone Makeup Inspirations
Posted by Rachel Wood on July 27th, 2009

I didn’t always know I wanted to be a makeup artist when I was growing up, but I did always have a love for colour. I think a lot of it stems from my mother. She is an interior designer and when I was a little girl I would sit for hours and stare at her colour chart books. I used to spread out all the different panels of shades and analyse the difference in tones. If I ever ventured into a DIY store with her I would grab a handful of paint charts and pick out all my favourite colours in the car on the way home. I still have a guilty pleasure of doing that today-only this time I search the paint charts for new inspiring makeup choices. If you find yourself bored of your regular standard colours, check out Pantone’s website or hit your local paint store and pick up a few charts; then go makeup shopping. It’s so much easier to find products you like if you have a colour in mind that you’re looking for to begin with. Its also a great way to figure out colours that compliment each other when choosing cosmetics.
