Make-up at Primark!
Posted by Rachel Wood on June 14th, 2009

Primark - or "Primarni" as I like to refer it as, is the Marmite of shopping - You Love it or Hate it. I’m guilty as charged for the Love it team. I like the ease of popping in to buy a cheap vest top for the gym or a little black dress for work. On my recent trip to NYC, I must have been stopped 10 times from women raving about my leopard print & sequinned handbag (Primark doesn’t exist in the USA). For me there is no substitute for bargain fashion.
And now they’ve come out with a makeup line! The packaging & products are a cute combination of Too Faced meets Soap & Glory with a touch of Benefit thrown in. I think Primark made a little mistake though by deciding not to print "not tested on Animals" on the packaging. This has now caused an uproar and massive debate across various beauty forums on the internet but, I’ve been informed from the factory who actually produces their cosmetics in the UK that they in fact DO NOT test on animals. Primark didn’t think it would be necessary to print this on their cosmetics at the time….Hmm oversight?
I adore the little duo box of blusher and bronzer cheekily named "The Happy Couple." It’s very similar to another popular brands’ bronzer/ highlight duos. I was pleasantly surprised at how strong the shimmer and pigment is from this product - well done Primarni!!
