This is what I love about Paris Hilton – she can wear anything, and lots of people will gift her anything but she still wears something just beause she likes it. You either love or hate Paris but I can’t help but admire someone for having their own style. Paris purchased three of Louis Mariette’s ‘Lola’ hair brooches at West Hollywood’s Le Bra last week and was already photographed in Cannes wearing them.

Hatter extraordinaire, Louis Mariette created  the worlds most expensive hat, worth £1.5 million. The hat is made entirely of platinum and diamonds!

Stylist Stuff started out as something quite random and I was never really sure what to write about – but you write about what you know and I really love being a stylist. One of the best things about being a stylist is that I get to go to some amazing places and work with some fabulous people.

I get to do things like travel all over Europe with Billy Idol and his crew from Lucerne to St. Petersburg, work with Enya on her Christmas video, and go to Turkey to work on a Harvey Nichols shoot – which ended up being a very cool experience!

I’m always telling my assistants how one job will lead to another. I first met The Feeling on an editorial shoot and about a year or so later I styled two videos for them!

I can chat about fashion forever so I felt very honoured to give a fashion talk during the Viktor & Rolf exhibition at the Barbican!

Working with new designers is something that I really love, & I thrive on styling catwalk shows. This past season i worked with William Tempest on his first solo show, and it was an amazing show!

I am obsessed with ironing, folding and stain removers. All my assistants can iron and sew. I really adore all the assistants I’ve worked with over the years. They have all become or are on their way to becoming successful in their own right. It makes me happy to see them grow as artists but also annoyed as I have to find someone new!

This website will see some exciting changes, incorporating other points of view from behind-the-scenes in the world of fashion. I’ve asked some of my assistants and collegues to start contributing too – Kate Kearny, Sana Zod, Elana Soloman and Blue Mae have all assisted me on shoots and have started writing for Stylist Stuff. I’ve also worked on many projects with Rachel Wood and was delighted when she became our Beauty Editor. Another friend of mine who has just recently joined us is a celebrity junky, Leanne Bayley. I’m looking forward to writing more and more, and with more contributions as well the next 1000 posts should be even more fun!

I’m feeling great at the moment, not that I’m usually in a bad mood but today I’m in a marvellous mood. I think it might have something to do with the gorgeous weather, the fact that it’s a bank holiday and that this is my first official post for stylist stuff.

So, whilst catching some rays I started to think about what I wanted my first post to be about; I pondered all day just to come to the conclusion that this would only work if I just rolled with it, so here goes, may the rolling musings commence…

So I may as well confess to you all now, my name is Leanne and I am a celebrity addict. For the record I am a little bit ashamed, it’s not exactly ‘cool’ but I’m no crazed stalker; I don’t wait in hotel rooms or have posters on my wall. I just like to know what’s going on that’s all. It doesn’t help that a big part of my job at Elleuk.com is to follow celebrities; I work on the Picture Desk which means I’m always looking at hi-res images of various celebrities with their hair perfectly coiffed and their teeth dazzling and white.

From time to time (ok, more ‘from week to week’) you have your favourite girl crush, someone who gives you a severe case of envy-itus with every outing. Last week it was Diane Kruger (well it was Cannes after all and she did wear a pair of fabulous Chanel heels) this week it’s a regular favourite of mine, Gossip Girls Leighton Meester.

Leighton, aka Blaire Waldorf from Gossip Girl is my newest girl crush; with her newly blonde locks and effortless style she is really upping the ante in terms of style. Ok, I didn’t particularly love what she wore to the Met Ball Gala event, I thought she looked a bit of a state if truth be told but then so did everyone that night.

I ventured out of my side of town and I headed over to Camden Last to see Singer/Songwriter Sam Loaker. Sam is one of those true old fashioned singers, but with a quirky edge. He was amazing and funny – plus he gave me a free CD as I think mine was going to die after over listening to it! So yay I can sway to his crooning at home. He seemed confident enough up on stage, his humour led him through and with not only clever and witty lyrics but with entertaining anecdotes and funny stories to match. He says its “Music for your mum, sister and girlfriend” and its so true. It was a truly wonderful set, with a pianist who also matched with occasional backing vocals. Quote of the night from Sam has to be – “ it’s like a little piece of heaven… water” ok so rock and roll he might not be but there’s more to him than being a youth worker. With an old-fashioned persona and gentle personality, Sam is warm and kind hearted this pours through his lyrics and stage presence. At a glance Sam is very pretty, with a simple style including plimsolls, skinny jeans, hoodies and basic T’s he’s got the indie clad look down. It was such a pleasure to see him play, he’s one to watch so check out his MySpace.
