The Feather Frenzy

In the design world it's common to refer back to nature for exciting colour palettes and well balanced colour proportions. Take the penguin for example, nature knew instinctively just how much orange and yellow would work against their black and white suits.

The natural word has also provided feathers, a trend on the catwalk for both A/W 08 and S/S 09. Burberry Prorsum, Louis Vuitton, Celine and Giles have been some of the designers who have allowed the feather to grace their catwalk.

Feathers bring a great texture and strong, natural colouring to any outfit.
At the moment I am in love with feather headbands: they are fun and playful
and work really well with this Summer's popular folk trend. Worn best with
naturally loose and effortless hair a feather headband will instantly
refresh any Summer ensemble.

Many of the bohemian/folk fashion icons have been sporting this look.

Urban Outfitters and Topshop have some funky feather head accessories that
start at around £8.99 so this particular trend doesn't have to be expensive.
Why not work with an old alice band that you have lying around and embellish
it with feathers bought from your local haberdashery. Bring out the real
bohemian in you, recycle what you have and create an accessory that no one
else will own!
